Verona Earth Day

Earth Day Celebrations

Every year the VEC celebrates Earth Day in Verona. On Saturday, April 14th fabric canvas bags with the Verona logo were distributed free of charge as well as Township recycling bins and barrels.

Residents bring to the Recycling Center: corrugated cardboard, glass and plastic bottles and containers, cans, mixed paper, telephone books, batteries, a lot of electronic equipment, white goods and metal items. And they also fill up the clothing and shoes collection container.

Recycling Pledge Tree

More than 200 residents sign the VEC's “Recycling Pledge Tree” posters during this event, showing their support and recycling commitment. This is a great way to celebrate the Anniversary of Earth Day!

Recycling Bins

About 250 free recycling bins from Verona Township are distributed at this celebration -one per family. One resident confessed that he used his old one for 16 years before picking up a new one. Many residents sign the pledge without taking a bin home since theirs are still in good condition.

Thank you!

The VEC thanks everyone for increasing our recycling and celebrating Earth Day in Verona in a very "green" way!
