Verona Earth Day

Earth Day Event April 17th

Verona residents celebrated Earth Day by bringing their recyclable items to the Recycling Center at 10 Commerce Ct. from 9 am to 12 noon on April 17th, 2010.

Residents brought: corrugated cardboard, glass and plastic bottles and containers, cans, mixed paper, telephone books, batteries, a lot of electronic equipment, white goods and metal items. And they also filled up the clothing and shoes collection container.

Recycling Pledge Tree

More than 200 residents signed the VEC's “Recycling Pledge Tree” posters during the event, showing their support and recycling commitment. This was a great way to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day!

Recycling Bins

About 250 free recycling bins from Verona Township were distributed at the celebration -one per family- to commemorate this anniversary of Earth Day. One resident confessed that he used his old one for 16 years before picking up a new one. Many residents signed the pledge without taking a bin home since theirs were still in good condition.

Thank you!
